Benefits of web-based applications:
- eliminate the need to worry about different software versions or file types
- easily accommodate collaboration by allowing multiple users to edit the same file (with versioning) and provide users the ability to easily save and convert documents as multiple file types (including HTML and pdf)
- use Zoho Writer and Google Docs to author and publish posts to blog
- another new free and open productivity suite is OpenOffice.com (it is popular with netbook users who do not want to buy a commercial product for working offline)
- Google Sites is a free and easy way to create and share webpages
After browsing both Zoho Writer and Google Docs, I found that Zoho Writer is much more useful and I would prefer to use it. What do you think?
